Bill Gates VS Stallman
I introduced website of EFF last time and today I would like to introduce the website of FSF. Is there any relevance between two websites? Gates and Stallman have points of sameness. They have a job for computer software and they studied at Harvard University and were a Hacker (a Software developer). However, their thoughts are exactly opposite. Gate is called as a pioneer of a Copyrigh party and Stallman is called as a Copyleft party. As we know that, Gate insists that everyone should pay for using software and Stallman insists that source-code of software should be publicized for everyone can use and change it. Gate has been a biggest tycoon in the world but Stallman even does not own his house. Stallman is an initiator of “GNU Project” and FSF (Free Software Foundation). www.gnu.org

hi everyone,

Today my friend sent me a interesting flash for me, and i want to share with you guys.

http://comicchart.online.sh.cn/uploadfiles/3142.swf

In the previous lecture, Luke said that flash turn internet to create rich content (movement, sound and action). I tried to learn to produce flash a year before for my self, and i found that flash is so complex to learn if you want to produce a beautiful flash. You need to create the movement in your flash in a shorten period, and you have to repeat again and again in order to test the flash run smoothly. Therefore if you guys wanna learn to produce flash, it need to spend much time on it.

And one more website i wanna share with you guys. I think most of the people have test after holiday, and if you guys want to relax after study and you can play the game through the website below:

http://www.crazyhill.com/hung/game02/additup.swf

After you press start, it shows a number in the top right corner, you just have to click on the number in the main screen to add up to that number. To win, you have to use all the numbers in the main screen.

ENJOY THE GAME ^^

Yay back to uni! There's nothing more exciting.
Well I was just thinking about the ability of news to travel so quickly because of networks set up bringing different mediums such as radio, television, mobiles and the internet together. This was in light of my unsuccessful snowboardin trip where about the only day I did get in the mountain was closed early because of the avalanche. I saw the whole thing it was pretty wicked and its funny watching news reports later that eveing and seeing how they obscure facts to fit the premise. What amazed me was that a little less than an hour after it happened one of my friends txt me asking if I was ok and I was wondering how the hell she knew about it and because of my ability to txt her information through the different networks she ended up on the radio explaining some of the finer details.
After doing some reading on networks and communities it was really interesting to read how with new media everything is one way or another linked through networks and how this is having an affect on people's sociological understandings of what a community is and should be. It raised the issues of communities and physical location, values, behaviour etc and how these make up and define communities and how online communities are transforming traditional ideologies into a space where online relationships, shared values and spaces more closely define communities rather than just age, ethnicity and social status. It also raised the issue of textual norms and behaviours in online communities where people create a community through recognisable norms for expressing emotions such as :-) and actions creating a textual language that most people accessing the same space would understand no matter how diverse there characters where face to face.
In light of one of you guys (sorry not sure who) talking about the new apple ipod which I saw while watching im ashamed to say Oprah she also introduced this wicked digital camera that is about the size of a credit card. What I thought was really unique was that it had its own portable photo quality printer that was slightly smaller than a loaf of bread meaning ultimately that you could almost simultaneously print quality images a few minutes after taking the photo. The idea is nothing new but the quality is remarkably better than polaroids, I thought it was pretty cool.

Okay, so the other day I was at work (In a hotel bar) and I was chatting to this guy sitting at the bar. He was reading some buisness magazine and started cracking up. So naturally I was curious to see what the big deal was. He showed me this small article, about 100 words or something with some guy wearing a watch. According to the article, this was no ordinary watch but one that came with a 128mg disk, usb port and multiple file support. Basically it was just a storage disk, only in a flashy watch. ( I really wish I could remember what magazine this was in and the name of the product, sinse that would give me more credability, but just take my word for it). Anyway, the guy at the bar was ammused, because he was a buiseness man himself and said that this comes of as just a bunch of coporate gadget wankery: "My car is louder and faster than yours"/ "My watch is cooler than yours". Its like the scene in American Psycho when all the young executives are around the board room table comparing buisiness cards, and Patrick Bateman goes ape because one of the guys has Indented Italics Font with a water mark on his card, thus making it superior to Patricks, which has no water mark and is not indented font.

Okay, so if you are confused by all this or if it has come accross as a bunch of arse, then I'll try and sum it up. New Technology these days, doesnt seem to come out of necessity. Who NEEDS a watch that can store 128mgs of information and be plugged into your computer?? Seriously. It seems that technology is more of a fashion accessory. If you have this product you must be up-to-play with the digital world, therefore your hip, or "in" with the other technologically inclined individuals. People show off their new phones to other people, soon will buisiness men all be showing of watches with storage facilities instead of buisiness cards?? If so, what is the point? Is it just another way for one to stroke his/her own ego??

Hey, all. Our holiday is over.........:(
4th entry; Today I'm gonna talk about Sony's new product "AIBO ERS-7". It is an entertainment dog robot. It can present it's different feelings, such as happy and sad, with lights. It responds not only to voice and touch, but also to 15 different functions like setting an alrm or taking a photo, with the use of "AIBO cards" . I felt cute about the fact that AIBO looks for the "energy station" to charge by itself when it has lower battery.
But what is really amazing about AIBO is that by using the special software "AIBO mind", what kind of personality your AIBO would have depends on how you play, communicate and live with it. So you can custermise your AIBO as you spend time with it.
AIBO could be very convenient to people who love to have pets, but have some reasons that they cannot. AIBO doesn't be fed even you are very busy, it's quiet so you can have it in your apartment, AIBO would be fine when you have to leave home for a few days or weeks for work. But it's not just a robot. You can still enjoy the experience of having a pet.
Would you like to have one? Or still prefer the real animals?

See you all in the lecture!!

hi,guys~~
Our holiday is nearly ending, too bad:( but next time, when we got holiday again, it is a long long holiday(summer vacation),isn't it?^_^ that's great~ ^_^ because I will come back my hometown China.

Today, when I was searching the internet, I found a very interesting news which is about Sony company."Sony prepares to turn up the volume of digital radios."

The price of digital radio sets is expected to fall following the announcement that Japanese electronics group Sony is enter to the market. "This turns digital into the radio market of the future,"said Simon Cole, chief executive of radio group UBC Media."In three or four years there will be no reason to buy analogue set." Ian Dickens, chief executive of the Digital Radio Development said, "as sony enters the market next year we expected to see competition among manufacturers increase, which in turn will lead to competition between retailers. All of which is good news for consumers.

Sony will not reveal the design or price of its first digital radio, but said it was a portable set that would be distributed across Europe, with particular emphasis on the UK,where 175,000 digital sets had been sold by May this year.Total digital radio sales are expected to reach 1 million by the end of next year. ^_^

hey guys,
I do not know how was your holiday, I felt so angry since yesterday, because my computer got a virus. Someone send me a file on 3th september, after I opened it nothing happen, but yesterday my computer could not work well, all the tools on the tabletop could not open, and all my chatting tools could not use any more.
I know I should not receive the file send by a straige person, but sometimes we do not pay attention on these things, I think all the people chatting with me as a friend should be trusted. Now I know I am wrong, I just can not understand why these people do these things, they can not get any profit from a home use computer. Are they doing this just for fun? To see other people get problems can make them happy? They can not play other people's life to have fun, they should pay back for that.
So I am telling everyone DO NOT RECEIVE ANY FILE BY STRAIGE PERSON, AND ALSO THE PERSON YOU DO NOT KNOW MUCH!
I should format my computer now, the last sentence I want to say is" I hate hakers!"

Hey all, hope you all have a nice holiday~~~.Last week there were a series flashes attarcted heaps of net fans. Im sorry I can't copy thire address because they come through the baner ads. They became the pop topic through these people. But the protagonist of the flashes is a new product of a high-tech company---digital camera. Flash is not strange by us,however taking flash in use of business publicizing and got a good feedback is rare. It's a result that planed by the business company who has a good understanding to flash's potential commerical value. Flash build up a new mode in cultural broadcasting. They are accepted and interested by people fo their "small", "rapid" and " convenience". Also they don's existed along any more, but are combined with film, music and other traditional media forms. Business companies can get effective publicizing aim by flash's popular in people, especially in young people. Young people likes share the good and funny flash products with their friends. So the wider and rapid broadcasting feature of flash make the commerical value. With the development of flash cultura, flash's use in business field will be wider and advanced.

Hey guys

Just got back from Oz! On Friday when I was home watching Oprah and came across this great new breakthrough in vacuum cleaning. Ok sorry guys.....I know its not really digital technology... But you have to admit it looked so cute.....I mean with this new roomba life just got a little simpler—and with this automatic vacuum, it just got a little more like The Jetsons too!
So here goes.........

Roomba is the new robotic vacuum cleaner from iRobot. The first of its kind in digital vacuum. Roomba uses intelligent navigation technology to automatically clean nearly all household floor surfaces without human direction, so there's nothing to push. Sounds too good to be true huh!

Roomba is so easy to use. Place it in the middle of the room to be cleaned, turn it on, push a button, and walk away and do whatever you please. Since Roomba can clean under your beds and other places regular vacuums can't reach, Roomba cleans more of your floor. Its spinning side brush and two counter rotating brushes, along with a unique squeegee vacuum system, picks up more of the debris on your floors, including pet hair, dust, dirt and other particles.

Roomba sweeps and vacuums most home floor surfaces including hardwood, laminate, linoleum, low-pile carpet, medium-pile carpet, tile, slate, and other hard surfaces.

SOUNDS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE..........WHAT WILL TECHNOLOGY COME UP WITH NEXT

Hey guys....

I'm back!! In the country that is!! Had a blast down under... Hope everyone had an awesome holiday... I sure did... It was awesome.... Did lots of shopping and touring around..... Anyway a cousin of mine from the States who came to Australia for a holiday as well had this most awesome little gadget... I don't think we have it in NZ yet. Its the new iPod

The new super-slim iPod redefines what a digital music player is all about. It is so light in weight, and it can even hold up to 10,000 songs, and downloads music at an incredible speed. You can even take your entire music collection with you wherever you go.

In todays generation, the iPod is, hands-down, everyone’s favorite digital music player. And with its stunning design, it’s the must-have player for music-loving Mac and Windows users. It is smaller than ever (just 0.62 inches thick), the iPod fits comfortably in the palm of your hand and slips easily in one's pocket. And it weighs less than 2 compact discs, and even many cell phones. The iPod has a huge 10GB, 20GB or 40GB hard drive — that’s 10,000 songs. Do the math: that’s space enough to store four weeks of music — played continuously, 24/7 — or one new song a day for the next 27 years. Compared to 2 compact discs, iPod is 15% lighter, 65% smaller and can hold over 9,500 more songs. Man was I bored... heheheh

Ahead-of-the-curve design
The iPod has an all-touch interface for enhanced durability and sensitivity. It has an LCD screen and buttons that feature a backlight for clear visibility in low-light conditions. I think it is the best way to take an entire music collection anywhere.

But theres more.....Heres the perfect companion to iPod, the iTunes Music Store is a great gadget that works well with Ipod. Its a new way to preview, buy and download music. Within a minute of finding a song you like, you can own it. Make unlimited playlists, burn individual songs to CD as many times as you like, and take all your music with you wherever you go.

All I can say is that it is completely awesome!!!

hey there,
just reading the blogs this week and noticed someone had posted something about pixar and how 'finding nemo' has now surpassed the lion king in the box office stakes. Well last night I went to see 'finding nemo', I used to not think much of these movies until I saw 'monsters inc' that is a brilliant movie by the way. Anyway I thought
finding nemo' was also very good, during the previews however there was a animated movie advertised I think it was about a bear cub, anyway in comparision to the digital technology found in pixar films this cartoon looked very ameteur and not at all visually effective even the colours seem dull. It seems that soon these kind of films will become defunct simply because the children that go see these films may fall asleep due to the lack of colur and vibrancy. There is a certain aesthetic value to the old style cartoons but I dont think the target audience will really care simple as that. On another note it is interesting to see that the auckland home show is jumping on the tech bandwagon!!! with the full page booklet in the herald with a girl and here virtual reality goggles.
hope everyone had a good holiday

So i haven't blogged in ages, and I thought I would just say something for the sake of blogging. I hope everyone has had a great holiday. IT was my birthday yesterday yep I am one of those September 11th babies which up until a few years ago had no signifigance - how our world changes! But to celebrate how old I am actually getting by reaching the grand age of a quarter century (gasp!) and losing my memory at all - if you just can't remember the name of a song, or you don't know what album a song is on - then check out gracenote. They have literally thousands of albums and songs on their database and you can find most things you are after. It is shamelessly linked to Amazon or ebay if you want to then buy the album of course.
And hey Matt you rock - you have amazing relevant thoughts I just happen to think everyone else does to that's all. Have an awesome weekend everyone - spring has actually sprung!!

Hey, guys. How is holiday going? But nearly finish:(

One reading from The language of new media, the author talks about the differences between traditional media and new media. one of which is that --All digital media share the same digital code. This allows different media types to be displayed using one machine—a computer—which acts as a multimedia display device. From here, I think about all the digital equipments I have, the digital camera, digital audio player (MP3) and digital recorder. All of these different digital media can be played and edited through the connection USB to computer.

Digital recorder that I used quite often during the lecture time is a very good example to illustrate this reading. Normally, Digital recorder is small and with a small microphone. I do not need the tape; it’s very convenient. This recorder can record for total 48 hours. If I use traditional recorder to record every lecture I need many tapes. Also, when I come back home, I will transfer the file that I recorded to computer and listen to the lecture from computer! Indeed, digital media bring lots of benefits for us!

Is there anyone using computer like him?haha, funny A:)
enjoy the rest of the holiday:)

Dan Schiller Digital Capitalism:

Cyberspace not only exemplifies but also spearheads the greater political economy of which it has become such a critical part. The networks that comprise cyberspace were originally created at the behest of government agencies, military contractors, and allied educational institutions. However, over the past generation or so, a growing number of these networks began to serve primarily corporate users. Under the sway of an expansionary market logic, the Internet began a political-economic transition toward what Dan Schiller calls "digital capitalism."

Digital Capitalism takes a critical look at the unfolding political economy of contemporary computer-communications networks. Schiller first describes the overwhelmingly "neoliberal" or market-driven policies that influence the govern the telecommunications system; such policies, he argues, tend to empower transnational corporations and to exacerbate existing social inequalities. He then shows how cyberspace offers uniquely supple instruments with which to cultivate and deepen consumerism on a global scale, especially among the economically privilieged. Finally, Schiller explains how digital capitalism has already overtaken education, placing it at the mercy of a proprietary market logic.

VIRTUAL REALITY
Virtual reality is an advantage technology gives people experience of places around the world without living a room and also people can see the famous things via virtual reality. The most important thing virtual rality to be used as teaching tool, I think is a great idea to practice for example medical stuff on other things before a real thing.

The air traffic controller is a fascinating virtual programme and showing how powerful this technology is. This technology is useful and used for fun as well and creating extra stimulation in our mind.

ESSAY QUESTIONS: Finally I have got access to the new Faculty of Arts web server. I posted up the essay questions (under "assessment") and some useful references for each one (under "resources"). Given that this web server is only updated nightly, this means that the material will only "go live" after midnight tonight. A couple of important points:

1. I'm really sorry for the delay. I had no control over these technical problems but should have had a contingency plan (I may be a technophile but I also spend many hours boring folk on the perils of technological dependency!)

2. If you can't wait until tomorrow for the assignment, send me an email today and - eating or sleeping notwithstanding - I'll endeavour to send you a copy straight out on email.

3. If you have any difficulties accessing the assignment on the website please let me know asap and I'll email you a copy. Alternatively, you can pick up a hard copy from the FTVMS office (copies will be available from there later on today).

Whether you're mainly into work, play or "other", I hope you're having a good mid-semester.

Though I've missed out on the 'shmellows, How could I forget that puppy-octopussy face... go Occy - cheers Jenna, for the wave of nostalgia..!

I just got back yesterday from Dunedin... On the plane, sat next to a man who wasn't keen at all on the upcoming flight...and my texting in the 10 minutes before take-off didn't help matters either. But I had to text - my friend Lisa was hitching from Dunedin to Auckland and I had to drop the line: "Race you there" just to emphasise that it takes 2hrs to fly, but about 2 days by car!

Now, two things came to mind as I clickedy-clicked my little communication/radiation device:
1. Lisa is crazy - I mean, isn't it dangerous for girls to hitch-hike up the country alone?
2. The hyperventilating man next to me actually has nothing to worry about my texting, but i should make this text short because, at the very least, it must be annoying.

But even with all the curses that owning a cellphone carries, it's amazing how much safer it is to have one. Take Lisa -if she gets into trouble, she can just ring 111 and leave the phone on. If she's dropped in the wop wops with nowhere to go and night closing in, she can always ring a taxi to come and get her. God bless mobileys.
And by the way - just got a text from lisa, she got in at 10am this morning, meaning she made it back in 26hrs (now thats hardcore hitching)

Though I wasn't about to torture him further, the nervous man didn't need to worry even if i was texting in the air. I'm placing trust in TV this time, but I recall seeing a programme once... it might have been that "Why Planes Go Down" or something. Well apparently, it's NOT because of mobile phones. When they tell you to switch your mobile phone off in flight 'because it may interfere with our guidance systems', it's really just for the benefit of the cellphone networks. Usually, when you are on the ground, your phone connects through the closest cellphone tower. However, whilst in the air, your phone is actually 'closest' to lots of towers, and moving fast. This can cause confusion about which tower your phone should be connected to, and cause network problems if lots of users are in the air and using their phones.
I guess if they really did interfere with the navigation systems, *someone* would have left their phone on in a flight by now and caused a crash - but I've never heard of a plane crash caused by 'mobile phone usage'.

Everybody has fun yet??
Hope you guys are having a great time out there
It's my 4th entry

Here's a website I just found out

I want to talk about on-line game this week, which I was supposed to post up a few weeks ago.
I had a chat with a friend of mine last night.. He is a big fan of computer game

We talked about how the computer games have been developed in last few years.
Game is a huge market that every company wants a hand on it..
Sony has PS and PS2 as the biggest player in this market, and Microsoft released xBox as another big player.
Now Korean IT companies already entered the on-line game market ahead of other countries..
On-line game will be the next big pie, why?
Because in the future, we will not just playing the little game box in front of us, instead we will play the game at our home with other people from all over the world.
AND every person who wants to play on-line has to pay for it! Unlike other computer games where you can pay a little money for the pirate version.
That is the beauty of it...
Because every user needs to register for an account where you can have your own details,
e.g amount of money, and weapons..etc..
Many NZers still can't feel the power of the on-line games.. But if you take a good look around many Asian countries, you can see many and many internet cafe on the street, where a bunch of people spend hours and hours playing on-line games...
and most of these games are designed by Korean IT companies..and it is starting to conquer the U.S market and many other countries.
It's just like PS where it started back in Japan, and then slowly spread all over the world.
I guess it's one of the industries that never say die, and keeps developing into a new shape..

Anyway enjoy last week of this break, guys! and prepare for more assignments when uni starts!!!><

Just me again, wanting to clear up something I said in that last post. Reading it back I noticed that it may have sounded a little contradictory when I said that the lack of colour bordering the Pixar.com pages works to hold the attention of children. What I meant is that the simplicity of the border on each page would have the likely effect of allowing children to focus on the details within the frame (which, in most cases, are very colourful) without being distracted by aspects outside the frame. Hope that makes sense now, if it didn't already.

Hey hey it's Fangface/ Sherman Fangsworth, a cartoon originally aired in 1979... so before my time...

So... yesterday I had nearly finished writing my blog before my computer crashed, so here is attempt two (I would cross my fingers but then it would be fairly difficult to type...). So... close your eyes, click your heels together three times and pretend it's from last week please. The topic of my blog is cloning, inspired by the futuristic movie yesterday: 'The 6th Day'. I only watched the very start of the movie, but I needed something (anything!) to write on, so here we are! I thought the CGI was really bad, from what small part I saw of it, especially in the bit where Arnie and some other guy are flying the remote-controlled plane things. Here is a webpage on human cloning - like in the movie they talk about cloning human body parts (in the movie they were also cloning human beings... and that's as far as I saw). Anway: Human Cloning. In case your interested in trying your own hand in a bit of cloning, here is another handy website: How Cloning Works. As most people are aware, the first (publically) cloned mammal was cloned in 1997, a sheep named "Dolly". Dolly gave birth to a lamb and was then slaughtered, as she was aging prematurely. At least that's what I remember, sombody correct me if I'm wrong. Just to even it out, as it is a controversial issue, here is an anti-cloning website: No Cloning. There is a lot of media focus on cloning technologies, much of it online, such as this site: Cloning technologies.

Ok, here goes...

Hey everyone. I have to confess that I haven’t posted anything in a while, and so you’ll have to imagine that this is last weeks post. This week I want to talk about Pixar Animation Studios -- in particular, the Pixar website. But first, a little disclaimer: After I practically repeated someone else’s post a couple of weeks back (unintentionally of course) I logged in today with the intention of reading other people’s posts BEFORE I write my own, and not after (I know, what a crazy idea). Anyway, to cut a long and boring story short, I read last weeks entries but couldn’t access the weeks before that. So if the following post looks similar to someone else’s, just shoot me now, ‘cause I give up.

Most of you probably know that Pixar, in collaboration with Disney, are the people behind many of the recent successful computer animated films -- including ‘Toy Story’ and ‘Monster’s Inc.’ The latest Disney/Pixar production, ‘Finding Nemo,’ has already replaced ‘The Lion King’ as the most successful animated feature film of all-time (based on box-office returns). The Pixar.com website includes details of the company’s past and present projects, as well as information on the process of making a computer animated film. All of the pages within the site are set on a white background, and draw the user’s attention to the information within the frame. The lack of colour and detail bordering each page, and the concise information and links contained within the pages, tends to suggest a deliberate attempt by the site’s designer to maintain the attention of children, of whom much of the information on Disney/Pixar films would be aimed at. The aesthetic simplicity of Pixar.com is complemented by a simple interface, whereby the primary mode of navigation is via a straightforward text menu along the top of the page.

I’ll end with these few links for anyone interested in animation and computer animated films:
Another link to Pixar Animation Studios
Looking for Nemo? Find him here
Dreamworks, Pixar’s biggest competition

Until next time…

Ahh am I muy stupido coz I can't find the essay question? Has it been posted yet? Can someone hook me up with the fix?
Saw an interesting article in Time the other day about how the American infidels have a pretty good idea where Osama 'the sword of allah' Bin laden is, but can't pin point him with electronic sweeps because he is communicating via handwritten notes. The U.S. Keyhole-11 satelite can photograph something 20cm in diameter from 300km up and they're undone by a very angry dude with a pen and some refill. The irony is mouthwatering. Allahu akbar!!
P.S.
where's the essay question?

Hey,guys! This time i want to talk about "digitize". there are heaps digital products nowadays and these kind of products are improved rapidly with the development of technology, digital camera, digital television and so on!
Regard with the "digital world" of computer, we can find digital images. digital sound etc. in the digital world, people's life become more handy!
Digital sound is an important part of digital media and can be used on a website, or in animation to create atmosphere and meaning.

Since the development of the computer, sound can be stored digitally as a stream of numbers. This enables us to experiment with sound. We can record our voice into the computer and manipulate it to create all kinds of interesting effects. We can make it sound faster or slower, louder, with echoes or interference. But the best part is, we could add or take off parts of other voices or sounds, and place it in any order we like! For more digital media knowledge, here is the link.click here

Also, there is an interesting image
Have fun everyone:)

Arrgh, I had just about finished writing my blog entry for this week and my computer just decided to die. After reviving it and attempting to retrieve my information I came to the conclusion that it is gone, gone for ever... so I will write it again tomorrow and we can just pretend it was for this week ok?!? New media can be awfully frustrating sometimes. At least if you write something on a piece of paper you are safe in the knowledge that it will not mysteriously spontaneously combust...

Hey Guys, this week I wanted to talk about something rather strange. It's called net.art, (as opposed to 'net art' which are those nice pictures in our blogg). It is "a self-defining term created by a malfunctioning piece of software, originally used to describe an art and communications activity on the internet".
http://www.easylife.org/netart/. (sorry for not giving a link). Basically it revolves around manipulating the internet, and the systems within it.

One such artist Alexei Shulgin made the jump to net.art to escape the boundaries of the traditional art system. His work 'ABC' (linkgiven below) takes on the net specific topic of the URL, and consists of a number of alphabet-related links that send the viewer everywhere from the "inebriated kitchen" (www.yyy.com) to the 3M homepage (www.mmm.com). To interact with this art form, click on a number, and then on a group of letters... see, net.art can be fun!!!!!!!This work combines many ideas such as networks, interface, and commerce. It appears that Shulgin has way too much time on his hands!!!! As this is a strange form of art to get involved in, however as 'new media' students I'm sure one of us can gain pleasure from it.
Have a good week,
Chris.

Last week there were a series flashes attarcted heaps of net fans.

In these days, there are several flashes (in www.sina.com.cn) attract many internet fans. These flashes are downloaded and become the hot topic through young people. And the protagonist in these flashes is an advanced digital camera. Taking flash into business propagandizing is the result that is plan by the business company, who base the understanding to flash culture and business application. Flash set a new mode of the cultural broadcasting. They have been combined with films, music and other traditional media forms and are interested by young people for their "rapid" and "convenience". So the use of flash has a big potential in commerical field. Some IT companies release the new products in internet by the form of flashes . This help to make a wider developmental future and a renewal visual field for flashes's use in business tractics.

Today i read some information about visual culture, i would like to talk about the important point of it.

For studying of visual culture, we need to concern:
1.the distribution of powers of seeing for example men and women look at the same thing but may get a totally difference feeling of the same thing.
2. the role played by instruments of visualization, some of the visualization are highly specialist and restrictive. This kind of visualization depend on codes of visual literacy such as X-ray, most of the people dont know how to read X-ray.
3. the legal status that is accorded to certain types of image.

And when we study of visual culture, we need to study their meanings, pkeasures and our modes of consumption- seeing, looking, gazing, spectating and observing.
According to the Wood 1996:68, "vision is an active, interpretative process strongly governed by communities and institutions."

Above is my summary about visual culture for my study today, and i would like to share these for all of you^^.
